We still have not been able to directly contact anyone in Haiti. We did hear through other family members this morning that both of Hugues’ brothers are okay. Someone spoke to Fritz, who lives in Massey and he said the damage in Massey is minimal. No one is able to get into the city of Les Cayes from the mountains because the condition of the road is so bad. We do not have specific information on any of the children but hope we will be able to contact someone directly today as communication seems to be opening up some.
We continue to be concerned about the people of Massey being able to obtain food and water as the roads between Les Cayes and Port-Au-Prince, and between Massey and Les Cayes are not passable. Most people in this area travel into Les Cayes to get food, water, and to make a living selling items in the market. Though their homes and lives are largely spared, their way of life has been drastically changed overnight. The days and months ahead will be difficult ones for the people of Massey, Haiti. Please continue to keep them in your prayers.
