Who are we going to see in Haiti?

Jovan is into saying names, and identifying the correct people. He points to a picture of Daddy and says "DaDa" or to Ted's room and says "Ted" and he has a little baby Bible with which he points to the picture of Jesus and says "Jesus". We have been asking Jovan where we are going tomorrow and who we are going to see in Haiti, to which he responds "DaDa". Today, my mom and I were packing the car for our EARLY morning trip to the airport tomorrow and Jovan climbed up into the backseat and sat down, ready to go! I asked him, "Jovan, where are we going?" He said, "Haiti". Then I asked, "Who are we going to see in Haiti?", to which Jovan replied, "Jesus".

I can't get the sound of his little voice saying "Jesus" out of my head tonight, because he is so right. We ARE going to see Jesus. So many times over the past 15 months, it has felt like Jesus just wasn't there, or if he was that he was hiding. But as we look back now, we can see all of the little ways that he showed himself to us. From a small gift of money anonymously left stuck in our front door, to the friends and family who have helped us get Grain d'Espoir off the ground, to the blessing of Hugues being able to have internet, God's blessing of giving Hugues and I such amazing support systems and friends both in Haiti and in the USA, for Jovan's little smiles and laughs that keep us going every day. Jesus HAS been with us the entire time, and he has chosen now, this week, this day to show himself in such a huge and mighty way. Jovan sees it more clearly than I ever could. We are going to Haiti to SEE Jesus' work in our lives, to SEE what all this has been working towards, and really to experience his provision for us in a new and awesome way.

This past week has held blessing after blessing. We can never express our thanks adequately for the many gifts and prayers sent our way. We have peace in our hearts, in the midst of the nerves, that Jesus is with our family, directing our steps, and making a way in what has felt like a very dry desert. Thank you to everyone who has allowed God to use them in our lives. We are so blessed and can't wait to see this chapter of our lives come to an end, and to see the new chapters blossom out of this one. Tomorrow morning...7:40am...we are flying off to see Jesus! (and Daddy too of course!) :)
